How we work
At One Peace, we believe that achieving peace is possible when each part of society actively participates. In regions worldwide affected by violence and its lasting impacts, our approach is molded to address the unique challenges and dynamics of each context.
Supporting Reconciliation: Every region has its history and roots of conflict which lead to deep divisions and scars. We aim to mend bonds and build bridges by fostering reconciliation efforts. This includes providing platforms for dialogue and exchange among diverse societal groups.
Strengthening Civil Society: An empowered civil society is a cornerstone of lasting peace. Across the globe, we bolster NGOs and grassroots organizations, enhancing their capabilities to play an instrumental role in the peace-building continuum.
Promoting Non-violent Conflict Resolution: Regardless of the location, our message that violence isn't the solution is consistent. We impart training in non-violent conflict resolution techniques by emphasizing dialogue and mutual understanding.
Media and Peace Journalism: The media holds sway everywhere. Collaborating with global and local media entities, we advocate for peace journalism by emphasizing narratives of reconciliation, unity, and positive change.
Supporting Displaced Communities: Conflicts often result in displacement. We stand by these communities, whether they're in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, or elsewhere. Our support ensures their safe return and seamless societal reintegration.
Advocacy and Awareness: In both national and international arenas, our voice is persistent in championing peace building initiatives. By spotlighting the specific challenges of regions affected by violence, we aim to drive policies that prioritize stability and coexistence.
Collaboration with Local Partners: Our interventions in any region always involve close collaboration with local partners. This synergy, considering the insights of those attuned to the local nuances, ensures our strategies are culturally sensitive and impactful.
Educational Initiatives: Recognizing the power of knowledge, we launch educational drives, workshops, and seminars worldwide to instill principles of peace, cooperation, and coexistence.
Environmental and Resource-focused Peace-building: In places where conflicts revolve around resources and environmental concerns, we actively mediate promoting harmonious coexistence and sustainable utilization.
Local Conflict Counselling
Through these avenues and more, One Peace remains steadfast in its commitment to ushering in a difference, regardless of geographical boundaries. Our vision is a world where peace spans every longitude and latitude, making violence a relic of the past.
Local Conflict Counselling Approach
At One Peace, we are proud to champion our signature "Local Conflict Counselling" methodology. Since day one, this approach has empowered local leaders and decision-makers in the pursuit of positive and proactive conflict resolution.
Our approach is rooted in a process-driven philosophy that seamlessly marries the best practices of systemic counselling with proven tools for conflict management and transformation. We believe in a ground-up view, understanding challenges in their multifaceted contexts. This holistic view, combined with an unbiased and impartial perspective, paves the way for widely accepted suggestions, leading to durable outcomes backed by all stakeholders.
2024 - Peace Promoting Campaign and Local NGO Coordination In collaboration with five NGOs from Sweden, One Peace operates in Kenya and Ethiopia to address internal conflicts between communities. Our efforts focus on promoting non-violent communication and providing humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, to rural villages and distant communities.
2023 - Peace Promoting Campaign in Lebanon Amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, One Peace Global launched a campaign advocating for non-violence and peace. Our initiatives aimed to foster dialogue and understanding during these challenging times.
2023 - Humanitarian Aid and Support for Distant Villages in Turkey Following the devastating earthquake in Turkey, One Peace coordinated the shipment of 352 air and sea consignments from NGOs across Europe to affected villages. With the help of local logistics partners, we ensured that all shipments reached their destinations, providing much-needed relief.
2022 - Ukraine In response to the influx of refugees following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, One Peace coordinated a large-scale relative-finding project. Partnering with churches in Romania and Poland, we created a database, synced with the European Union, to track refugees, mainly women and children, as they moved from city to city. Our project reunited thousands of families and provided logistical support to churches on the Romanian-Ukrainian border, facilitating aid from NGOs in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, and finding welcoming communities to host refugees across Europe.
